Indian Ocean (July 7, 2006) - Air Traffic Controller 2nd Class Rizalina Pedro, assigned to Tactical Air Control Squadron Eleven (TACRON-11), monitors Marine Corps AV-8B Harriers on final approach in the Tactical Air Control Center aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5). Peleliu and Amphibious Squadron Three are currently on a scheduled deployment in support of the global war on terrorism and maritime security operations (MSO). MSO set the conditions for security and stability in the maritime environment as well as complement the counter-terrorism and security efforts of regional nations. MSO deny international terrorists use of the maritime environment as a venue for attack or to transport personnel, weapons, or other material.
